Royal Commission into Natural Disaster Arrangements

31st March 2020

The Royal Commission into National Natural Disaster Arrangements was established on 20 February 2020 following the extreme bushfire season of 2019-20.

While the Commission of Inquiry was established in response to the widespread bushfires, it is required to “examine coordination, preparedness for, response to and recovery from disasters as well as improving resilience and adapting to changing climatic conditions and mitigating the impact of natural disasters”.

FMA will be providing a submission focussing on flood issues. The submission period closes on 17 April.
